Norwich City have had a remarkable season in the Championship, but now attention must turn to planning ahead for next season in the Premier League.
The Canaries entered this season being widely tipped for a mid table sort of finish, so to blow away the league like they did took many by surprise, and testament has to go to Daniel Farke and his group of players.
He assembled a squad of relatively unknown stars, with many of those excelling in the Championship despite having little experience in the English game.
One of those was Teemu Pukki, who won many awards for his goalscoring haul this season.
The Finnish striker joined the club from Brondby for a small fee after four seasons with the Copenhagen club, and instantly made an impact despite little discussion about him last summer.
Now though, Norwich must learn from the mistakes made in the previous times they won promotion, and not rely on the players that got them up.
Obviously, in some respects, Norwich will need to rely on these players, but also they should invest in some new talent to help them stay in the league.
While Teemu Pukki has been excellent this season, there are no guarantees he will cut it in the top flight.
The Finnish striker scored 29 goals and made 10 assists in his 43 appearances in the Championship this season, an incredible return.
However, they should learn now from other clubs who have been promoted and relied on their strikers though, such as Huddersfield and Cardiff, who both struggled this season in the Premier League with a lack of a proven goalscorer at that level.
Norwich will have quite a good budget, so they should not rely on Pukki et al, instead they should invest in a proven Premier League goalscorer with a good track record.
The sort of player that could do well is one who is not playing every week for a top half team – he could step in at Norwich and be a huge success.
While Pukki is bound to play regularly, Norwich will need better options if they are to stay in the top flight.
