Bristol City are reportedly set to reignite their interest in Barnsley striker Keiffer Moore this summer.

The target man scored 19 goals in 35 appearances for the Tykes in all competitions this season, helping the team secure automatic promotion to the Championship.

Bristol City were linked with a move for the 26-year-old back in January and manager Lee Johnson will be looking to boost his attacking options in this summer, after just missing out on the Championship play-offs.

Moore would be an excellent signing for the Robins, but Barnsley will be reluctant to lose one of their stand-out players and head coach Daniel Stendel should do everything he can to persuade the striker to remain to Oakwell.

If the Robins do make an approach for the centre-forward in the summer, Barnsley should reject it, as he could be the key to their Championship survival next season.

Moore was magnificent for the Reds in League One this season and played an integral role in helping the team secure an immediate return to the second-tier, despite missing over two months of the season with a head injury.

He is a strong, powerful centre-forward, with a strong eye for goal and could thrive as he makes the step up.

The former Ipswich man has shown that he is potential to be a good player in the second tier in the past and Stendel knows how to get the best out of the striker.

There is still plenty of time for Moore to improve in his career and playing at a higher level than League One will allow him to realise his full potential.

Stendel will be looking to considerably strengthen his squad in the transfer market this summer and build a team that can compete in the Championship next season.

The German will already have an idea of potential new signings, but it is perhaps just as important that he is able to keep hold of his best players.

He must do everything he can to persuade Moore to remain at the club in the summer and if he can do so, Barnsley have every chance of ensuring their stay in the Championship isn't a short one.
