Arsenal remain interested in signing Norwich City midfielder Emi Buendia, despite Martin Odegaard set to arrive at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are closing in on their second signing of the January transfer window, with Mathew Ryan recently arriving on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Martin Odegaard is now set to arrive on loan from Real Madrid until the end of the season, as Mikel Arteta looks to add a creative option to his midfield following the recent departure of Mesut Ozil.

Pukki? Cantwell? – Can you name which Norwich City player scored each of these 15 goals this season?

But according to Football.London, Arsenal remain interested in signing Emi Buendia, with the Norwich City man still high up on Arteta's wish list.

Buendia has scored seven goals and produced as many assists in 21 appearances for Norwich this season, and has been the subject of plenty of interest from Arsenal.

It is believed that Norwich want around £40million for their Argentine playmaker, in an attempt to fend off interest this month.

Football.London claim that Arsenal remain interested in signing Buendia, despite the impending arrival of Odegaard in North London.

The Verdict

This isn't too much of a surprise to be honest.

Odegaard is only set to arrive on loan until the end of the season, meaning that they will need to replace him in the summer.

Buendia seems to be the man they want for the long-term, and who can blame them? He's a fantastic talent who didn't do too bad in the Premier League last season.

He would be an excellent acquisition for Arsenal and would be worth the money.
