Arsenal have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Norwich City youngster Max Aarons, according to reports from the Mirror.

The 18-year old has been sensational for Norwich City in their surge up the Sky Bet Championship table this term, and has emerged as a first-team regular, with high-profile clubs chasing the youngster.

Spurs were linked with a £15million move to land the right-back last month, however the Mirror now claim that the Gunners will match any offer their bitter rivals make for him.

Aarons came through the ranks at Luton Town, before making the switch to Carrow Road at the age of 16-years old. He has made 22 appearances for a Norwich side that currently sit in the automatic promotion places after a magnificent campaign thus far.

Able to play at either right-back or left-back, the England under-19 international would be a huge asset for either top flight team in the future.

But, it would be a huge blow for Norwich if they were to lose him, particularly as they chase a return to the Premier League themselves.

The Verdict

It seems inevitable that Aarons will depart Norwich sooner rather than later, with huge Premier League clubs circling around him.

It's money well spent if they are willing to pay around £15million for him, and Norwich can definitely benefit from those funds, in order to bring in new talent that will ignite a Premier League promotion push this season.

What a player he is turning out to be, and it is full credit to Daniel Farke for showing faith in Norwich's youngsters, and developing them into exceptionally talented players.
