Sky Bet Championship trio Birmingham City, Charlton Athletic and Fulham are set to battle it out for Arsenal youngster Gedion Zelalem, according to the Daily Record.
The trio of Championship clubs also face competition from Scottish giants Rangers for the 18-year-old, who is being heavily linked with a short-term loan move away from the Emirates.
Zelalem made his debut for the Gunners against Coventry City in January 2014, when he came on as a substitute for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the FA Cup, and also appeared in the Champions League in a win over Galatasaray last year.
He is still awaiting his first appearance in the Premier League, but signed a new contract last year until 2017 and has been touted as the next Cesc Fabregas.
Zelalem was born in Germany to Ethiopian parents and represented the Germans at under-15 to under-17 level.
However, he became an American citizen last December and has since gone on to make six appearances for the Stars and Stripes at under-20 level.
At the age of 18, a loan move away to a Football League club could be exactly what the exciting talent needs, to help develop and mature as a footballer – but it is yet to be seen which team will win the race to sign the Arsenal star.
