The January transfer window is approaching the midway stage and for Leeds United things are starting to hot up.

While bringing in new additions there's plenty of players at Elland Road who are attracting admiring glances from further afield.

One of them is Henri Kumwenda.

According to Football Insider, the 18-year-old is attracting the attention of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

The young striker has struggled with injuries but has impressed of late with his long-term future in Yorkshire very much up in the air.

Kumwenda is yet to sign a professional contract with Marcelo Bielsa's side, and given the interest from the upper echelons of the Premier League it could be hard to keep hold of the starlet.

Losing another striker is certainly not what the Whites will be hoping for this month.

Leeds are down to the bare bones in attacking talent following Arsenal's decision to recall Eddie Nketiah at the start of the month.

That has left Patrick Bamford as the only senior striker in Bielsa's squad, meaning that they face a bit of a problem if the former Middlesbrough man suffers an injury or suspension in the coming weeks.

The verdict

Losing a player such as Henri Kumwenda would be a big blow for Leeds United.

The Whites are very much building towards a bright future and the 18-year-old would no doubt fit into that as they prepare for a potential future in the top flight.

But if one of the big guns come calling it could prove difficult to turn down for the youngster.
