Arsenal are leading the race to sign Ipswich Town wonderkid Marcelo Flores, according to a report in the Times.
The 15-year-old is a wanted man this summer after progressing nicely in the ranks at Ipswich despite only being with the club for a year, and the Premier League big boys are all sniffing around the teenager in the hopes of snapping him up.
However, it would appear that is Unai Emery’s Arsenal who lead the chase for the teen.
The Mexican was in demand when he initially signed for Ipswich back in 2017, as the Championship club reportedly beat the likes of Chelsea to his signature.
Those clubs have maintained an interest though in the youngster, and they now appear ready to swoop this summer to integrate Flores into their own academies and take on his development further.
Flores, who can play a whole host of positions across the attacking areas of the field, has made no secret of his desire to play in the Premier League, with the report quoting Flores’s comments about this previously.
Ipswich will no doubt fight to keep their man, but will know they are in a losing situation with the money and ambition on offer from top flight clubs.
