Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has joined Steve Evans’ Rotherham United on loan until the end of the season, the Gunners have confirmed.
The goalkeeper is down the pecking order at the North London club and it is no surprise to see the 22-year-old leave on loan.
Martinez has only made six appearances for Arsenal this campaign, and will go to Rotherham in search of first-team football.
The Argentinian joins a club that are struggling in the Sky Bet Championship, with the club sitting in 20th place in the division.
Rotherham United have accrued 40 points from 38 league games this season, and are six points adrift of the relegation zone.
The Millers have been inconsistent this season and in their last ten games they have been defeated six times.
Rotherham United have completed the signing of Charlton Athletic defender Lawrie Wilson today, and both could be in contention to start in the Millers’ game with Sheffield Wednesday on the weekend.
