Arsenal have entered the race to sign Queens Park Rangers forward Adel Taarabt, [football] direct news understands.
Taarabt has impressed during a loan spell at Italian giants AC Milan and they are understood be wanting to make the loan deal permanent in the next coming weeks.
But, FDN understands that Arsenal are ready to offer the former Tottenham Hotspur player a return to north London.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has been given a significant transfer kitty this summer and is looking for cover and competition for striker Olivier Giroud.
Arsenal finished 4th in the Premier League, qualifying for the Champions League and were in the title race until the turn of the year.
They went on to win the FA Cup last weekend with a 3-2 win in extra time over Hull City.
Wenger wants to strengthen his squad in order to make a serious challenge for the Premier League title next season.
Taarabt signed for QPR in 2010 after two loan spells at the club from Spurs and has gone on to score 34 goals in 150 appearances for the R’s.
Since Rangers were relegated from the Premier League in 2013 the Moroccan has been on loan at Fulham and AC Milan.
