Middlesbrough's Nathan Wood has emerged as a potential transfer target for Arsenal, Tottenham and Burnley according to a recent report from The Sun.

The report claims that Sean Dyche's side missed out on signing the youngster last season, but they've evidently been impressed with what they have seen from him since.

Burnley are preparing a bid in the region of £9m for Wood, and it'll be interesting to see whether Boro are to accept that multi-million pound bid from the Premier League side.

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are also said to be interested in signing him, although they're yet to register a formal offer to land his signature.

Wood hasn't made a single appearance for Middlesbrough in their league campaign this term, but did feature for them in the defeat to Crewe Alexandra in the EFL cup earlier this season.

The 17-year-old will be keen to have his long-term future resolved at the earliest of opportunities, and if he isn't getting the game time he wants in the Boro first-team, then a move could be on the cards.

Middlesbrough are next in action when they take on Reading, who will provide Jonathan Woodgate's side with a real test on the day, as they look promising under Jose Gomes' guidance.

The Verdict:

He's clearly got something about him.

Wood hasn't made an impact with Middlesbrough's first-team yet, but he must be a bright player for the future if Burnley are preparing a £9m bid for the youngster.

Only time will tell if he is worth that, but Boro will surely be doing everything they can to secure his long-term future with them before even considering any offers for Wood.
