Arsenal and Liverpool are set to battle it out for the signature of Reading left-back Jordan Obita, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 20-year-old defender has had an impressive season at the Madejski Stadium, and he won the player of the season award at the Berkshire club.
Liverpool have been interested in the left-back for some time, but it is now believed Arsenal have joined the race for the England Under-19 defender.
Obita was called up for the England Under-21 side recently, and his reputation is growing everyday.
The Merseyside club are targeting defensive players in this Summer’s transfer window, and see Obita as a player they can use in the long-term.
Arsenal already have a young English left-back in Kieran Gibbs but are eyeing Obita as an adequate understudy to Gibbs.
