Queens Park Rangers' veteran defender Angel Rangel has today released a statement with regards to the club's dreadful start to the season, calling for togetherness.

Steve McClaren's side followed up Saturday's humiliating 7-1 thrashing by West Brom with a comfortable 3-0 loss at the hands of Bristol City on Tuesday night.

It made it four defeats from their opening four games for QPR and they remain rooted to the foot of the table with just two goals scored and pressure mounting on McClaren.

But the Loftus Road faithful have responded positively to their defender's honest assessment of the club's start to the season and his optimism for the rest of it.

The Spaniard was brought in for his debut after Saturday's humiliation and some fans are already calling for him to be given the armband ahead of their next match at home to Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
