Swindon Town fans will have been left reeling by the news this morning that Robbie Fowler could well be in line to become the club's new manager, with BBC Wiltshire Sport taking to Twitter to announce that the former Liverpool striker has been in talks with the club.

The Robins have been searching for a new manager since seeing John Sheridan leave his post back in April after he saw his side humbled by their fellow League One relegation strugglers AFC Wimbledon at Plough Lane.

Fowler's only previous experience of management in any capacity came at Brisbane Roar and SC East Bengal, clubs who are a world away from the day to day pressures of the Football League.

With Swindon having dropped down to League Two after succumbing to relegation this term, they will be looking to appoint a new man at the helm as soon as possible as they look to rebuild.

Here, we take a look at some of the best reactions to the news via social media as the Swindon faithful responded to the tweet in their droves.
