Millwall have seemingly forgotten all about being a tough side to break down, the characteristic of their rise to the top ten last season.

Instead, the Millwall of a couple of years ago is back.

They're frail in defence and look susceptible whenever the opposition goes forward. Not only are they facing lots of shots, but in the sticks, Jordan Archer is failing to convince.

The 25-year old Scotland international struggled to deal with a weak free kick at the weekend, resulting in one of Preston's three goals. Going forward there's little issue, they bagged twice at Deepdale, but conceding three is not acceptable.

It could be that Archer, axed earlier in the season in favour of Ben Amos, is back in the firing line this time around. Neil Harris might be looking at another strategy, one that involves making moves in the January transfer window.

We look at three keepers who could do a job for Millwall in the early part of 2019.

There's few as experienced as Westwood, but he's been frozen out at Sheffield Wednesday.

His recent return to Under 23 action has fuelled speculation he might be on the move, and if he were, Millwall could do a lot worse than get themselves at the head of the queue.

He can organise, and although he's into his thirties, he's still a young man in goalkeeping terms.

If Millwall wanted to grab a player with lots of recent first-team experience, then Exeter City stopper Christy Pym would be one to go for.

He's been excellent for the Grecians this season; he's been a shining light as they've launched yet another playoff assault and he's surely destined for a shot at the big time.

He would be an interesting acquisition.

Bonham is currently on loan with Bristol Rovers, but it looks likely he'll be recalled by Brentford in the window and possibly sold on.

Millwall could do worse, a lot worse. Bonham has been seriously impressive for the Gas this season, even with their troubles.

He appears to have a big future ahead of him, and a move to Millwall could bring a run of games, exactly what he needs to keep on developing.
