Leeds United’s rivalry with Middlesbrough is continuing to grow, particularly after Garry Monk’s decision to quit Elland Road and take the managerial vacancy at the Riverside Stadium.

The Sky Bet Championship rivals now boast two of the division’s best strikers, with Leeds currently retaining the service of last season’s top scorer, Chris Wood, whilst Boro have splashed £15m on signing Britt Assombalonga.

Wood scored 30 goals across all competitions for Leeds last season, whilst Assombalonga has scored 30 goals in three injury hit campaigns with Nottingham Forest, prior to his move to Boro.

Here at Football League World, we asked Twitter who was better out of the two strikers.

Under 500 of our followers believe that Wood is a better striker than Assombalonga, with almost 1,000 believing that the new Boro man has the edge over the New Zealand international.

Here is some reaction to the debate from Twitter.

Who do you think is the better striker? Wood or Assombalonga? Let us know!
