Sheffield Wednesday are in dire straits after yet another defeat at this weekend; this time a 2-1 loss to Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

The Owls had led through Marco Matias on the hour mark, but found themselves 2-1 down in the space of ten minutes, after two goals in two minutes from Bersant Celina and Wayne Routledge.

Having publicly slammed midfielder Josh Onomah after the game as well as storming out of his post-match press conference, it's fair to say that Jos Luhukay is feeling the pressure - the Owls sit 18th in the Championship after seven wins in their last ten games.

The Owls need a boost up top - Lucas Joao is trying his hardest to be the Wednesday's goal threat, but with Atdhe Nuhiu struggling to find form and getting on slightly, the addition of another striker certainly wouldn't go amiss in January.

One player, therefore, that Wednesday should really be looking to sign is Gillingham's Tom Eaves - who scored yet another goal in the League One side's 2-2 home draw against Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend.

The 26-year old has been on fire for the Kent side this season, scoring 15 goals in 27 appearances in all competitions, for a Gillingham side that are sitting 16th in the table.

At 6-foot-3, Eaves would be a perfect replacement for Nuhiu, offering the same physical prowess and aerial threat up top, and whilst he's in this form, Wednesday cannot afford to let this opportunity pass by.

Some would see as it as a risk, but something needs to change.
