The pressure is mounting on Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay after yet another defeat at the weekend.

The Owls succumbed to their sixth defeat in their last eight league matches, after a 4-2 away defeat to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon, as the Yorkshire club slipped to 16th in the table.

Luhukay is under major scrutiny with his future at Hillsborough looking shorter by the day, with the Owls winning just two of their last eleven league games, and something needs to change in January regardless of who is manager.

The Owls have looked shy in front of goal - they have scored six goals in their last eight games with one of those being an own-goal by Blackburn goalkeeper David Raya.

With Steven Fletcher and Atdhe Nuhiu scoring just four goals between them this term, and Fernando Forestieri joining Gary Hooper on the sidelines, Wednesday need something else up top.

They need to take a risk, and that’s why Wednesday should be after Barnsley’s Kieffer Moore - the 26-year old netted his 13th goal of the season at the weekend in a 4-2 victory at Southend United in the F.A. Cup.

Moore has been on fire this season for the Tykes, and is one of League One’s top goalscorers with 13 goals in 20 games this term.

He hasn’t really had the best of goalscoring records in the Championship before with Ipswich Town, but whilst he’s bang in form this term, it’s well worth the risk.

At 6ft 5in he would offer the same physical prowess and aerial threat that Fletcher does, and could prove to be a formidable strike partner for the likes of Hooper and Forestieri.
