Sheffield United fans were joyous in their mood last night as young midfielder David Brooks made his Wales debut in their friendly with World Cup favourites, France.

The debut for Chris Coleman's men marks a stunning 12 months for the youngster, who was due to be sent out on loan to Chesterfield in the summer before impressing for England in the Toulon tournament and going on to deliver some stunning performances so far for Sheffield United.

Brooks got almost half an hour under his belt for the Welsh, and was impressive despite his side falling to defeat against a French side full of world class talent.

The 20-year-old becomes the latest in a long line of Blades youngsters to impress on the international stage, following the likes of Kyle Walker, Harry Maguire, and Phil Jagielka into the international fold, all who developed in the Blades academy.
