Luton Town will be rather content with their start to life back in the Championship following their emphatic promotion from League One last season.

The Hatters currently sit in 15th place with six matches played as Graeme Jones and his side look to establish themselves as a second-tier team.

One man who has been predictably important is striker James Collins. Last season saw him notch 25 League One goals and he already has three in six this time around.

And that fine form was rewarded over the past week with a call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad.

He played no part in their first match, a Euro 2020 qualifier with Switzerland, but came off the bench on Tuesday night against Bulgaria and, unsurprisingly, scored.

It was a predictably smart, poacher's finish in the 85th minute to make the score 3-1 and, as happy as the Ireland fans were, it was the Luton faithful who were even more excited...
