Wigan Athletic are in the market Motherwell player Alex Rodriguez Gorrin if reports are to be believed.
The Daily Record is reporting that the Latics face competition for the signature of the 25-year-old from divisional rivals Blackburn Rovers and Millwall.
Paul Cook’s men could lose Nick Powell in the summer and sourcing a replacement early could soften the blow of his potential departure.
Gorrin has impressed at Fir Park this season since breaking into the first team having arrived in the summer.
He made his debut back in August but played only twice before a spell out of the side, earning his place back in the middle of November and has been a regular since.
The central midfielder has been a revelation in the Motherwell team since the turn of the year, and his form has attracted interest from south of the border.
Gorrin is out of contract in the summer, and the club have offered him a new deal, but there is a fight to keep him now amid the interest from a trio of Championship clubs.
Would be he a good signing for Wigan?

Jay Taylor
“Other than being a potential Powell replacement, I don’t see where he would fit into Wigan’s plans.
“Besides being close to the border, the move doesn’t make total sense to me, if it were to happen.
“It will also depend on what division the Latics are playing in next term, too – with Wigan in a relegation battle as it stands.”
Toby Wilding
"They are used to doing business with Motherwell having brought Cedric Kipre in from Fir Park last summer.
“The Latics have been struggling in central midfield in recent weeks with on-loan right-back Reece James filling in in that position.
“With there already a general acceptance that James will not be returning to the DW next season, numbers will be needed in that area, and Gorrin could prove another good find."
George Harbey
“He’d be a fantastic signing next to Dunkley.
“Gorrin is having a fantastic season and would be a massive upgrade on Danny Fox as he can play at the back and in midfield.
“He’s tall, strong and powerful and would be a shrewd addition at the DW Stadium.”
