‘Another Eisa situation’ – Loads of Bristol City fans react as departure rumours intensify

With the halfway point of the season fast approaching, Bristol City will be rather happy with how things have gone so far.
With 19 games played in the second tier, Lee Johnson’s side sit in fifth place as they look to make the next step and win promotion to the Premier League, after flattering to deceive in recent years.
But, with a 5-2 hammering of Huddersfield Town fresh in their memories, they will be confident of barrelling towards the January transfer window in high-spirits.
Sounds like Sam Szmodics heading out on loan in January. We understand that #BristolCity are considering sending him to another Championship club in January. Hull City and others in the running. With Jamie Paterson returning will be fewer chances of first-team football for him.

However, the latest story relating to the upcoming trading period, was not one of an incoming.
In fact it related to summer signing Sammie Szmodics, with the Bristol Post reporting that the Robins may look to loan him out to a Championship rival in the winter.
Since moving from Colchester, the midfielder’s first-team opportunities have been limited.
And here is what the fans had to say on the situation…
Club rightly takes a lot of plaudits for its transfer strategy but signing him, then Kasey Palmer whilst Jamie Paterson still remained a City player, made absolutely no sense at all.

Unfortunately players have a level and the Championship is a massive step up from leagues 1 and 2, some players can make the step some can't from what I've seen the step for Szmodics is to much at this time.

I’m sensing another Eisa situation.
A good-aged footballer with good decision making and genuine attacking ability is quickly binned off when they don’t immediately adapt to Johnson Ball.

Sensible move, no point having him here if he's not going to play

Shame about that. Szmodics is a decent player but indeed a leap from league 2 to the championship is quite tough in terms of the step up of play. Hopefully Johnson will review Szmodics at the end of the season if he does well on loan.

Heard that LJ didn't even want to sign him in the first place.
