Blackburn Rovers return to action after the November international break on Saturday afternoon, when they host Barnsley at Ewood Park.

Having won just one of their last eight league games, the visit of the side bottom of the Championship standings ought to be seen as an opportunity for Tony Mowbray's side to kickstart their season once more.

But with Barnsley having only announced Gerhard Struber as their new manager earlier this week, there are likely to be plenty of members of the Tykes squad keen to make a good impression on the new man in charge.

As a result, this is unlikely to be an easy task for Rovers on Saturday, and here, we've taken a look at the starting lineup Mowbray could name to give his side the best possible chance of picking up three points that many will still expect them to get regardless of Barnsley's own situation.

Having started between the posts for Rovers in every league game so far this season, it seems inevitable Christian Walton will start in goal on Saturday, despite some inconsistent performances of late.

With Derrick Williams joining Greg Cunningham on the injury list with a calf strain picked up on international duty, Amari'i Bell looks to be the obvious choice to step in at left-back, giving him another chance to finally prove himself at Championship level.

That injury to Williams means that Darragh Lenihan's own return to fitness after an injury picked up at QPR at the start of October could not be more timely, with the Irishman's presence and ability likely to be a big help in a defence that has not always been convincing recently.

Having impressed while stepping in for Lenihan recently, Manchester City loanee Tosin Adarabioyo now looks set to extend his run in the side further alongside the Irishman in the absence of Williams.

After Mowbray revealed that Ryan Nyambe has returned from international duty with Nyambe not at 100%, captain Elliott Bennett will likely continue his run of starting every league game this season in the right-back position he has taken up for the majority of the campaign.

While Bradley Johnson has admitted recently that his performance have not been up to scratch, with his run of starts coming to an end, the fact that Rovers' overall form has not been helped by his absence means it could be worth Mowbray giving the summer signing another chance to impress on Saturday.

Given Corry Evans has just returned from a busy international break with Northern Ireland, the continually impressive Lewis Travis looks a good bet to keep his place in the centre of midfield at Ewood Park this weekend.

A former Barnsley loanee, Adam Armstrong's attacking threat from out wide means in he should continue his run of featuring in every league game for Rovers this season as they look for some much-needed momentum on Saturday.

It is now four games since Dack's run of five goals in seven matches came to an end, but with Blackburn's key man having started every league game this season, you imagine he will expect to get another chance to change that on Saturday.

After dropping into a deeper midfield role for the defeat at Leeds in the final game before the November international break, Lewis Holtby ought to move further forward again on Saturday, in order to exploit the attacking threat he has previously shown in that area of the pitch.

Despite his largely challenging start to his first season back at Ewood Park as a permanent Rovers player, Sam Gallagher has continued to have the support of Mowbray over the past few months in terms of selection, meaning the 24-year-old ought to once again lead the line for Rovers against Barnsley.
