Pablo Hernandez has secured a new deal with Leeds United, which will take the playmaker through until the summer of 2022.  

Leeds have moved to announce the new deal this evening, addressing Hernandez’s future, with his previous contract set to run out in the summer of 2020.

Should Hernandez see out this latest contract, it will take through to six seasons with the Whites.

Now 34, Hernandez has made 132 appearances for the Whites, returning 29 goals, including 12 in the Championship last season alongside his 12 assists to help Leeds to third in the table.

So far this season Hernandez has two goals and two assists to his name, but has missed a significant spell with a muscular problem. However, he’s back available now and will be pushing for a return to the starting line-up against Luton Town next time out to celebrate his new deal.

And, that new deal has sparked a reaction amongst the Leeds fans, with many surprised by the announcement.
