Nottingham Forest are reportedly close to securing a deal for 21-year old Portuguese winger Gil Dias and it's fair to say their fans are excited by his arrival.

Dias spent last season on loan with Italian side Fiorentina, making 27 appearances as they finished eighth in the Italian top flight. His parent club, Monaco, look set to allow him to not only join Forest, but also sign him at the end of the season if they so desire.

He will be the third Portuguese player to join Forest this summer, following in the footsteps of fellow countrymen Joao Carvalho and Diogo Goncalves. Michael Dawson has also joined Forest in a busy few weeks for Aitor Karanka.

Last season, Wolves won the division on the back of performances by several Portuguese stars and seems Forest are looking to emulate that success themselves.

Quite rightly, fans took to journalist John Percy's Twitter feed to express their delight in signing the U21 international, clearly shocked they have been able to secure a deal for a player who, on paper, looks to be an incredible prospect.

Here's a collection of their best responses.
