‘Announce Premier League’ – Hull fans react to club’s latest acquisition

Hull City supporters will be hoping that their side can bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking next term.

The Tigers only secured promotion to the Premier League last year but were unable to stay there last season, eventually finishing six points adrift of safety in 18th place.

And, as with any side dropping down a division, there has been much change at the KCOM Stadium this summer, with manager Marco Silva leaving for Watford, and the likes of Harry Maguire, Tom Huddlestone, and Eldin Jakupovic also following him out the exit door.

And it is now up to new boss Leonid Slutsky, in his first managerial job in England, to pick up the pieces and reinvigorate the North East outfit ready for their Championship campaign, which for them begins away at former boss Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa on August 5.

Slutsky has been relatively busy in the transfer window thus far, bringing in the likes of Ola Aina and Fraizer Campbell, and he secured another deal on Thursday in the form of Chelsea defender Michael Hector.

The 25-year-old hasn’t made a senior appearance for the Blues since his move there back in 2015, and he won’t get the chance to next season either as he has officially penned a season-long loan deal with Slutsky’s Hull.

And it’s a deal which has stimulated quite the response from Hull fans on Twitter, with many delighted to see the former Reading man sign for the club…
