After making 11 signings for his first team already this summer, Wigan Athletic manager Leam Richardson has added a twelfth new player to his ranks in the form of Tom Bayliss.
The midfielder has penned a season-long loan deal with the Latics to provide competition to the likes of Max Power, Tom Naylor and Jordan Cousins in the engine room.
The 22-year-old joined PNE back in the summer of 2019 from Coventry City, with North End paying a seven-figure fee for his services but it’s never quite worked out for him at Deepdale.
Alex Neil sparingly used him despite sanctioning his arrival, playing just one Championship game in his debut campaign with the Lilywhites but appeared 11 times last season, netting his first goal for the club on the final day against Nottingham Forest.

With opportunities once again set to be limited though, Bayliss has found himself securing a move to a side who have aspirations of promotion from League One this season.
Wigan fans have been reacting to news of the arrival of Bayliss and it’s clear to see that there is a lot of positivity regarding the club’s recruitment this summer.
