Gianfranco Zola has admitted that he could face the sack if Birmingham City’s results do not improve, according to The Birmingham Mail.
Birmingham City slipped to a 1-0 home defeat to second bottom Wigan Athletic and fans are starting to grow impatient with Zola, who controversially replaced Gary Rowett a few months ago.
Speaking after the game, a clearly livid Zola said:
“I have got a lot of anger inside.
“I hope the players have the same because we need to perform better.
“If we want to play for this club we need to be better.
“This club is not going to wait for me, it’s not going to wait for the players if they don’t want to stand up to the situation.
“We need to change, otherwise they are going to change us.
“If some of the supporters feel the manager needs to change I understand that.
“I totally understand that.”
