Angel Rangel has certainly made a good impression with QPR this season, as they look to make a late push for the play-off places in the Championship.

The Spaniard has made18 appearances in total for the Hoops this term, although there have been questions as to whether he has a future at the club heading into the summer.

Rangel is out-of-contract at the end of this year's campaign, and has recently revealed that he is keen to sign a new deal with the club at the earliest of opportunities.

The experienced full-back signed for QPR back in 2018 after being released from Swansea City after a spell which stretched out to 11 years with the club.

Rangel recently took to Instagram to issue a throwback to when he played for Swansea against QPR at Loftus Road, in a memorable season for both clubs.

The 2010-11 season was one that will be remembered well by both clubs, as Rangel won promotion with Swansea through the play-offs, after a dramatic 4-2 win over Reading in the final at Wembley.

Whilst QPR won promotion that season as title winners, as they finished top of the second tier standings, and four points clear of Norwich City.

The Hoops only lost six games in that season, but now find themselves back in the Championship, and six points adrift of the play-off places.

That push for a top-six finish this season has been put on hold for the time being though, with recent events bringing an abrupt halt to fixtures across the UK.

The Verdict:

Rangel has been a fantastic servant to both clubs.

Swansea fans will remember him well for his performances in League One, Championship and in the Premier League, which shows how loyal he was to the Swans in his time with the club.

QPR made a smart move in signing him on a free transfer after his release from Swansea, and he has impressed me this season for Mark Warburton's side.

I certainly think he's worthy of a new deal in the summer, as you'd imagine that he has an impact both on and off the pitch given his experience in football.
