Andy Hessenthaler leaves Leyton Orient

Sky Bet League Two side Leyton Orient are set to announce that Andy Hessenthaler has left the club, according to The Sun journalist Freddie Nathan.

A disappointing start to the season has seen Leyton Orient languishing in the bottom half of the table after nine games of the League Two season.

The news of Hessenthaler’s departure comes on the back of back to back defeats, as Leyton Orient were defeated by Yeovil and most recently Notts County.

Despite the poor run of results, Freddie Nathan revealed that Leyton Orient’s controversial club president Francesco Becchetti was behind Hessenthaler losing his job.

It has been reported that Becchetti wasn’t impressed by the style of football that Leyton Orient was playing under Hessenthaler, with this being the main reason attributed to Hessenthaler’s departure.

Having only taken over the managerial hot seat from Kevin Nolan at the end of last season, it seems that Hessenthaler has been unjustly given very little time by Francesco Becchetti.

It seems to be a running theme that managers struggle to work with Francesco Becchetti and with the increasing instability created by Becchetti.

This complicated relationship between managers and Francesco will no doubt cause a sense of reluctance for those interested in taking over at Leyton Orient, in the meantime, it is likely to be Andy Edwards on a temporary basis as the caretaker manager.

Leyton Orient fans, how do you feel about the news? Do you feel that Andy Hessenthaler has been mistreated? Would you agree with Francesco Becchetti that the style of football was not good to watch? Is it in fact Francesco Becchetti that is the problem rather than Andy Hessenthaler? Who would you like to see take over at Leyton Orient?
