Bristol City striker Andreas Weimann has shared his personal thoughts after rescuing a point for his side against Brentford at Griffin Park on Wednesday night.

It is a result that bumped the Robins up into seventh place with ten matches played in the season and judging by his Instagram post after the match he was rather happy with the outcome.

Writing alongside a photograph of himself celebrating the goal, he said: "Another point on the road ... Back at Ashton gate on Saturday and another big effort needed to try get 3 points before the international break 💪🏻. Support last night was 🔥🔥."

Lee Johnson's side maintained their unbeaten away record in the second tier, stretching it to eight matches now, with a late Weimann header rescuing a point in a 1-1 draw and taking his tally for the season to four.

The Robins' forward found space in the box to cushion his header past David Raya following Jack Hunt's cross four minutes from time, 20 minutes after Josh Dasilva had given the hosts the lead with a stunning left-footed effort.

Next up for the Robins is the visit of Reading to Ashton Gate where Johnson and co. will be confident of adding three points to their total against the struggling Royals.

The verdict

Weimann is going to be a very important player for the Robins this season.

With Benik Afobe out until the end of the season, he is likley to be involved in nearly every game this season and they will need him to maintain this lively nature in front of goal.

It is almost certain that they will bring in an extra front man in the January transfer window, or possibly even before, but it is likely that Weimann will remain the key man.
