Nigel Pearson's reign at Bristol City has been very up and down, as was Dean Holden's before him, in such an inconsistent side having senior players like Andreas Weimann setting the standards at the top of the pitch can be crucial to enable the team to push in the right direction.

The Verdict

Weimann is now just two strikes away from reaching 50 goals in the Championship. The Austrian has shown his class at Watford, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Derby County previously but looks to be at the peak of his powers with the Robins.

Equally comfortable playing off of either flank or through the middle, Weimann's goals have ensured that the Robins have not been dragged into a relegation battle. In a season with so many excellent goalscorers in the second tier, Weimann will have his sights set on hitting 20 league goals for the first time in his career.

The Robins take on Fulham back-to-back, next in the FA Cup and then the league in looking to build on their positive start to the year.
