Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has backed a fan's design for a new Leeds United badge on Twitter.

The Whites remain in the dark over whether or not they will get the chance to secure promotion this season and what it will mean for them if the 2019/20 campaign cannot resume.

It is understood that they will be playing in Adidas-manufactured kits next term, whether that is in the Premier League or the Championship.

It appears fans will have to wait until the start of next season to find out exactly how those will look, as it has been reported they will play in their Kappa-manufactured kit should the 2019/20 campaign be extended.

Prospective kit designs and ideas based upon former strips have been circling on social media over the past month or so and it appears that the design of a new badge has caught the attention of the Leeds owner.

George Etherington posted his badge concept design on Twitter in late April and yesterday Radrizzani backed it on the social media site.

Under the Italian businessman's ownership, the Whites have not got the best record when it comes to badges.

In 2018, they were forced to go back on a potential change following outrage from the fanbase.

The Verdict

Radrizzani has got involved with fans on Twitter in the past but it's interesting to see him throw some weight behind a fan's badge design.

Could this be a hint at a potential new badge moving forward? That seems a little bit unrealistic but you feel we could see a different looking Whites kit next term.

Adidas are thought to be the new manufacturers, while the current badge was altered for the centenary season, so the club could look to make changes to it again.

It will be interesting to see how their 2020/21 strip looks when it is revealed.
