Sheffield Wednesday will be aiming for promotion from League One this season.

Darren Moore’s side narrowly missed out on a place in the Championship last campaign following defeat in the play-offs to Sunderland.

But it has been a busy summer at Hillsborough as the Owls look to build a competitive side for the year ahead.

Wednesday have already made several additions, with numerous players from last season having also departed.

However, the club’s transfer business is likely not over with the campaign set to get underway in the coming weeks.

Here are the Sheffield Wednesday transfer headlines you may have missed…

Elliot Anderson update

The Newcastle United youngster has been linked with a move to the League One club this summer.

The 19-year old impressed during a loan stint with Bristol Rovers in League Two last season.

But it is now being reported that he is interested in remaining with the Magpies in order to fight for his place in Eddie Howe’s side.

That would rule out any potential move for the starlet to join Moore’s team this transfer window.

Hull City issue Mallik Wilks stance

Wednesday are chasing the signature of Wilks from the Tigers this summer.

But their latest offer for the player has been deemed too low by the Championship club.

The 24-year old also has other pursuers in the hunt to sign the forward, but Wednesday are unlikely to give up in their efforts to sign the player.

Hull have yet to receive a further offer from Wednesday, with the club undecided on his future with only 12 months left on his current contract.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru interest

Multiple Championship clubs reportedly retain an interest in Wednesday’s Dele-Bashiru.

The Owls already rejected an offer from Blackpool for the player, but there are at least three sides still interested in making a move for the 21-year old.

Wednesday have no intention of selling the former Manchester City player, who has also not expressed an interest in leaving the club this summer.

It may take a big offer from one of the interested clubs for the League One side to consider selling, particularly due to a sell-on clause in his contract from the agreement with Man City.
