Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa will be braced to lose last season's top goal-scorer Kemar Roofe to Anderlecht and his departure, if confirmed, could signal the Whites looking to secure long-time target Ryan Kent of Liverpool, according to journalist Phil Hay on Twitter.

Kent, 22, is a product of the Liverpool youth set-up, signing senior terms at Anfield in 2015 and though yet the play a competitive first team fixture for the Reds, he has enjoyed loan spells at Coventry City, Barnsley, SC Freiburg, Bristol City and Rangers.

So would Kent prove an ideal replacement for Kemar Roofe?

We discuss........

Alfie Burns

“Kent feels like a little bit of an unorthodox Roofe replacement, but Bielsa could work wonders with the Liverpool winger if he gets him on board.

“Bielsa has this ability to make young players better and I feel he will do this with Kent should he arrive at Elland Road.

“There’s every chance that the 22-year-old might be tested through the middle in a false 9 role, whilst there’s definitely scope for Jack Harrison to move there with another winger on board.

“Ultimately, people will have their doubts over Kent coming in to replace Roofe, but this is Bielsa’s preference, and the Leeds fans must’ve learnt to trust him by now.”

Louie Chandler

"It would be a very good signing.

"If the Whites manage to land Kent you would have to say that Bielsa has achieved one of his main squad goals this summer in seriously strengthening their wide areas.

"With Liverpool wanting to sell, they have had to play the waiting game with Kent a bit but I feel like it will be a move that will pay-off for them.

"With Harrison, Clarke, Costa, Kent and Hernandez to choose from on the wings, you would have to say that Leeds probably have the strongest options in the league."

"I think this could be a good signing for Leeds.

"Kent clearly has potential, as evidenced by his recruitment by Liverpool, and with Championship experience already under his belt from loan moves to Barnsley and Bristol City, he should be well prepared for the challenges of this division.

"Having flourished helping Rangers in the battle for silverware during his temporary move to Ibrox last season, you feel this could be the perfect time for Leeds to bring him to the club, as they once again go in search of that elusive promotion to the Premier League this season.

"I do however wonder whether Kent is the right player for Leeds to replace Kemar Roofe, as it looks as though Kent - a more natural winger in comparison to the centre forward role that Roofe has occupied during his time at Elland Road - will do, which could leave Leeds still lacking a natural finisher if Kent struggles to adapt to that position."
