The race for the second automatic promotion spot is gathering pace in the Sky Bet Championship, with Aston Villa, Cardiff City and Derby County all competing for a Premier League place.
Cardiff are in pole position, but Villa and Derby look like running them close, particularly the former, who recorded a 4-2 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough yesterday.
Amongst the four goalscorers for Villa was Lewis Grabban, who scored his second goal in as many games for Steve Bruce’s side following his January arrival from AFC Bournemouth.
In the absence of Jonathan Kodjia, reliance has been on Scott Hogan and Keinan Davis, however, Grabban’s arrival has eased that pressure, with the 30-year-old already amongst the goals.
Villa’s supporters have been impressed with Grabban’s impact at Villa Park, with the striker pulling plenty of praise from the away support yesterday afternoon.
