Kalvin Phillips could be set for a move to the Premier League, with Football Insider reporting that Wolves are amongst the latest clubs to show an interest.

The 23-year-old came through the Leeds academy and has never experienced football in the top-tier, so this is a massive opportunity for the midfielder.

However, he would face a difficult task getting into the Wolves side. The system Nuno Espirito Santo prefers only allows for two midfielders, and two of Wolves' best players played in those positions last year - Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho.

In addition to that, Aston Villa are set to launch a £14m move for the player, according to the Telegraph.

Phillips has been able to progress due to the game time he's been given, and the responsibility that he has at Leeds. He is the focal point of their midfield, he is key to holding Bielsa's system together and protecting the back four, and he would be a big loss.

But, is it the right move to go the Premier League this summer? In particular to Wolves?

Our writers share their thoughts on the potential move...

Tommy Joyce

"Despite Phillips enjoying large success at Leeds at the moment, it might be hard for him turn down an opportunity to join Wolves.

"If Phillips can break into the first team, then it would be an enormously successful career move.

"However, if Phillips finds himself on the bench every week and struggling for game time, then he probably would be better off staying put for another season to see whether he can take Leeds up or find a team which is more likely to play him."

Toby Wilding

"I think it is.

"Not only is this the chance for him to play in the Premier League, it would also let him experience European football as well.

"Wolves are a club who - as this report shows - are capable of investing significant amounts into their side, and you can only see them wanting to progress further, something a player such as Phillips would surely want to be part of."

George Brooks

"This would be a good move for Phillips.

"He's a very talented player and I think it's only a matter of time before we see him make the step up to the Premier League.

"He could be a great signing for Wolves, although he might want to stay at Leeds for another season and try to help The Whites win promotion.

"It will be very interesting to see what happens with this transfer over the next few weeks."
