Leeds United and Fulham do battle under the lights at Elland Road this evening, with both sides looking to extend their unbeaten starts to the season.

Fulham pipped their hosts to the final playoff spot last season after a disappointing end of season run saw Leeds fall away from the top six, and Christiansen will hope to go one better than his predecessor by guiding the Whites into the play off places this semester.

Leeds were frustrated at the weekend when Preston were the visitors, but the same mistakes will not be made this evening, with Christiansen keen to return his side to winning ways.

Samu Saiz surely has to get the start following his Carabao Cup hat trick last week, with Pablo Hernandez preferred to his fellow Spaniard once again in the weekend’s draw.

Playing the forward off of Chris Wood, with Kemar Roofe and Ezgjan Alioski on either side will make the Whites a dangerous force against a Fulham side without centre half Tomas Kalas, who is suspended following his first minute red card against Reading at the weekend.

The Cottagers were extremely plucky at the Madejski, picking up a draw despite playing 90 minutes a man light, and boss Slavisa Jokanovic may consider sending out the same side minus Kalas’ replacement.

The two side’s are certainly promotion candidates this season, and it will be a surprise to not see both occupying a place in the top six at the end of the season.

Leeds were pipped at the post last year, and will know that an early win over their rivals could prove the world of difference in nine months time.

Christiansen will go for the win this evening, and the fire power of Chris Wood and the aforementioned trio behind him should be enough to break down a Cottagers defence missing the influential Kalas.

Leeds to take the spoils by two goals to one.
