West Brom are said to be one of a number of clubs interested in signing Carl Jenkinson on loan this month, but they have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of the full-back, according to The Mirror.

The Arsenal full-back is yet to make a league appearance for the Gunners this season, but has featured on five occasions in various cup competitions.

Jenkinson surely saw his future away from the Emirates Stadium for the remainder of this season, but due to an injury picked up by Hector Bellerin, it's likely that Jenkinson will remain at the club as backup.

Unai Emery is said to want to keep hold of Jenkinson as he looks to assess his options for the remainder of the season.

Despite that, West Brom have been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old defender.

But would be be a good signing for Albion?

We discuss....

George Harbey

"I'm sorry but this would be an awful signing.

"Jenkinson has never impressed me during his time at Arsenal and was also poor for Birmingham last year.

"Surely there are better options out there for West Brom?"

Gary Hutchinson

"This would be a great singing for the Baggies, but it won’t happen.

"Emery wants him to stay put for now, giving Darren Moore a headache going into the last six days of the window.

"He really needs strength in that defence but at present, he’s been thwarted in his attempts to bring anyone in.

"This is just another no."

Louie Chandler

"I think this would be a very smart signing.

"Gibbs has proven how effective these full-backs who perhaps look past it in the Premier League can be in the Championship, so why couldn't Jenkinson do the same?

"He will have a point to prove if he were to arrive, so West Brom should go for it."
