Aston Villa appear to be keen on ex-Leicester City defender Robert Huth, as it looks like they have missed out on re-signing John Terry, according to the Sun.

If the 34-year-old German should sign for Villa, it should at least put an end to Steve Bruce playing Mile Jedinak at centre-back, a position that does not seem to suit him.

So would Huth be good for Villa?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

Imperative.

That’s literally all that can be said about this move.

Villa have made a gross misjudgement in the window and they need a centre back.

Huth might not be quick, but he’s dominant in the air, experienced and most of all, he’s actually a centre back.

That’s more than can be said for their current centre back.

Jay Taylor

It would be an astute capture.

Robert Huth is a recent Premier League winner and would add to an area that is in desperate need of.

After Tommy Elphick’s loan move away, and the release of John Terry in the summer, Steve Bruce is light at the back and the addition of Huth would go some way to fixing a problem that has remained all summer.

It would be a great addition, even if for the short term.

George Dagless

Yes.

Villa need a centre-half desperately really and Huth would be a solid arrival.

He's got power and strength and would surely do a better job than Mile Jedinak who is being asked to fill in right now.
