Jack Ross has set about rebuilding Sunderland this summer after their embarrassing relegation to League One last season.

The Black Cats finished rock bottom of the table in what was probably the worst season in their history, but the summer's activity is showing signs of a resurgent club.

Bradford City striker Charlie Wyke is the latest to make the move to the North East.

The 25-year-old has scored 23 goals in 62 games since moving to Valley Parade from Carlisle in January 2017 and will be hoping to improve on this tally at Sunderland.

Wyke becomes Ross's 12th signing of the summer after players including Jack Baldwin, Jerome Sinclair, Glen Loovens and Reece James joined the club.

But is Wyke a good signing for the Black Cats?

We discuss...

Sam Rourke

This is an amazing signing.

Wyke is one of the most lethal forwards in the third tier and he could really flourish at the Stadium of Light.

He could form a strong partnership with Jerome Sinclair, in what would be one of the best frontlines in League One.

Jay Williams

Wyke is exactly what Sunderland need.

With young, raw talents like Josh Maja and Jerome Sinclair on their books, what Jack Ross needed was someone with more experience up front.

At 25, Wyke is already a proven goalscorer at this level and he will only get better as he develops his game.

Christian Fuller

Charlie Wyke is a good signing for Sunderland and would have been a strong addition to lots of higher level sides, but I do wonder if Sunderland need him.

Whilst he is an out and out goal scorer, Sunderland have already added the likes of Premier League striker Jerome Sinclair to their ranks for this season, meaning some of the new boys will miss out on precious minutes.

Louie Chandler

This is a great signing if a tad overpriced.

Wyke is a very reliable source of goals and should be an easy bet to get at least 15 in the coming season.
