The Sheffield Star has revealed that Frederico Venancio will only cost Sheffield Wednesday £800,000 to make his successful loan deal into a permanent one, sparking a frenzy of social media activity urging the club to complete this deal.

The 25-year-old played 25 games for the club on loan from Portuguese top division side Vitoria de Setubal and reports in Portugal claimed that it would cost Wednesday £2.6m to sign him permanently.

But this latest report claims that it will be just a fraction of that price and Sheffield Wednesday lead the race, with other Championship clubs interested.

The Owls missed the chance to make his contract permanent after their clause in his loan deal expired in March - hence the interest from other second tier sides.

But the former Portugal under-21 international is settled at Hillsborough and wants to return.

Here are the best replies from Sheffield Wednesday fans, urging the club to bring Venancio in for a cut-price fee.
