Sheffield Wednesday were beaten 2-1 by Brentford last night and many Owls fans have been pining for midfielder Massimo Luongo's return after he missed the game against the Bees.

Brentford summer signing Ivan Toney scored a brace for the visitors at Hillsborough, grabbing the winner soon after Callum Paterson's header had pulled them back level.

The defeat was the Owls second of the season and leaves them bottom of the table on -4 points.

It was also the first Championship game that midfielder Massimo Luongo has missed all season and the absence of the industrious Australian certainly had an impact.

The 28-year-old has been excellent alongside Barry Bannan in the centre of Wednesday's midfield so far this term but missed last night games due to a minor knee injury he suffered in the game against Birmingham City on Saturday.

Garry Monk suggested last night that Luongo's injury should keep him out long and that they're just waiting for the swelling to go down, which will be music to the ears of the Hillsborough faithful.

Are these 10 facts about Hillsborough true or false?

Now in his second season at the Yorkshire club, the midfielder appears to be a popular figure and he was certainly missed by fans last night, with many taking to Twitter to voice their thoughts.
