Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign West Bromwich Albion midfielder Morgan Rogers for an £8million fee, according to The Sun.

The 16-year-old was not included in the Baggies' squad for their pre-season tour to Spain, and he is now set to undergo a medical at the Etihad Stadium to complete his big-money move.

Rogers joined West Brom aged eight and has impressed in the academy system ever since. His efforts were eventually rewarded when he made his senior debut in the FA Cup against Brighton last season.

West Brom had hoped to keep hold of Rogers, but the midfielder has reportedly turned down the offer of fresh terms at The Hawthorns and now looks set to move on.

Express and Star reporter Matt Wilson shared his thoughts on Rogers' move via his Twitter account:

Plenty of Albion fans responded to the development by expressing their frustration at the move, which comes amid reports fellow Baggies academy product Louie Barry is set to join Barcelona.
