Tom Pearce is closing in on his move away from Leeds United, with Barnsley agreeing a fee with the Whites for the service of the academy graduate.
Leeds watched Pearce flourish towards the end of the 2017/18 campaign under Paul Heckingbottom, with the left-back making a string of impressive performances and opening his goalscoring account against Barnsley.
However, Marcelo Bielsa has frozen him out, and according to Alan Nixon, Pearce will be Barnsley-bound for a modest fee of just £275k.
Barnsley. Fee agreed for Tom Pearce at Leeds. Only 275k. That’s cheap.

The 21-year-old has made only 10 appearances for the first-team at Leeds, as well as nine more outings on loan with Scunthorpe last season.
At both clubs he’s failed to nail down a regular place in the side, and at Leeds, Leif Davis has progressed through as the academy option within Bielsa’s first-team.
Despite all that, plenty of fans aren’t impressed with Leeds letting Pearce go on the cheap with hours of the transfer window remaining…
We're having a fire sale. Pontus went for 5.5 this isn't surprising ????????♂️

Pearce had real promise. Can’t understand what’s gone wrong but that fee is an absolute insult! Wtf is going on at Leeds?! ????
