If the reaction from Michael Hefele’s former club’s fans is anything to go by, Nottingham Forest have made one of the signings of the summer.

The Forest man was held in high regard at his former side Huddersfield Town after helping them reach the Premier League two years ago.

The Championship side completed the signing of the German midfielder for around £300,000 and saw off late competition from rivals Queens Park Rangers on deadline day for his services.

Hefele has signed a three-year deal at the City Ground, and he could go straight into the side to play Reading this Saturday.

He only made six appearances for the Terriers last campaign having had an injury-hit year after winning the Championship play-off final.

During Huddersfield’s promotion-winning season, the German made 42 appearances and was instrumental in helping David Wanger’s side reach the top-flight.

Hefele becomes Aitor Karanka's 12th and final signing of the summer transfer window.

There are high hopes from Forest fans after the reaction the midfielder’s signing got from his former club’s supporters.

Here are some of the messages from Terriers fans on Twitter to Forest signing Hefele, and the reaction bodes well for the Championship side.
