West Brom manager Slaven Bilic is poised to complete the permanent signing of loan star Matheus Pereira next month for the modest fee of just £8.25million, according a report by The Telegraph.

Pereira, 23, joined on loan from Primeira Liga side Sporting Lisbon in the summer and has gone onto flourish under Bilic in the Championship this campaign, scoring six and providing 14 assists in all competitions.

The report suggests that the winger will secure a permanent move once he surpasses 30 Championship appearances, meaning all the paperwork will be confirmed ahead of the visit of local rivals Birmingham City on March 14.

So will the permanent signing of Pereira for £8.25m be one of the bargains of the season?

We discuss..........

Josh Cole

"This is a superb signing by West Brom as Matheus Pereira has excelled for the club since joining them on a temporary basis last summer from Sporting Lisbon.

"As well illustrating an abundance of creativity which has resulted in him providing 16 assists in the Championship, the midfielder has also chipped in with six goals.

"Arguably the best player in the second-tier, it is astonishing that the Baggies will be able to secure his services for as little as £8.25m given just how inflated the transfer market is.

"When you consider just how talented Pereira is, there is no reason why he cannot go on to thrive at the highest level with West Brom if they seal promotion to the Premier League in May."

George Harbey

"This is an unbelievable signing for West Brom and it's undoubtedly the best piece of business any Championship side have conducted since the start of the season.

"Pereira has been nothing short of a revelation since joining West Brom, and he is arguably one of the most exciting players we have ever seen ply their trade in the Sky Bet Championship - he's that good.

"He scores goals, produces chances and assists for his teammates, and he has certainly allayed any fears that he wouldn't be able to cope with the physicality of the Championship or English football in general.

"After contributing to 18 goals already this season and given that he's only 23, you would expect him to be valued at a price of £20m or more in any other situation. To be signing him for £8.25m is an absolute coup and the club deserve real credit."

Chris Thorpe

"The Brazilian playmaker has been one of the standout stars of this Championship season, contributing six goals and 12 assists for the Baggies.

"This is a move that has been a long time in the making, with Slaven Bilic having been keen to get a deal tied up as soon as possible.

"For a fee of just over eight million pounds, West Brom are securing the signing of a young player who still has his best years ahead of him and has the potential to become a star in the Premier League.

"If he continues his strong showings for the Midlands based club, the Baggies can surely expect to make a huge profit on the midfielder when they eventually choose to cash in."
