Bristol Rovers are on course for a lower mid-table position this term following a decent enough run of form since January.

The League One club are looking to cement their place in the third tier and will be looking forward to next season with plenty of hope that they might well be able to make a few additions which could see them challenge for a top six spot and a run at promotion.

One of the key men for the Gas of late has been January signing Jonson Clarke-Harris, who bagged again this weekend to hit double figures since sealing a loan move to the club in the winter window.

The former Rotherham United striker has always had plenty of ability in the tank, but questions over his attitude have left him falling short of achieving the sort of big moves he might have fancied himself to secure earlier on his career.

Indeed, his form has seen Championship clubs show interest in him, with the likes of Reading and Hull City both linked with a move for the big striker in recent times.

Rovers though should be getting themselves to the front of the queue ASAP in reality, and should be putting together a package to entice Clarke-Harris to the club on a permanent basis.

Goals win promotion and yield success, and finding someone in League One who can bag on a regular basis is no mean feat. That's why Clarke-Harris fits the mould perfectly for the club, with his ability above that of many players who ply their trade in the third tier.

Of course, Championship money and interest will be something which makes the big striker turn his head, and he'd be hard pushed to turn down a move.

Sometimes though you are best just staying put where you are loved, getting regular minutes, and getting your goals, something which is certainly the case with Clarke-Harris.
