Cardiff City registered their ninth win of the season on Sunday as the Bluebirds defeated play-off chasing Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at Hillsborough.

Goals from Robert Glatzel and Junior Hoilett within the first ten minutes of the game proved to be enough for Neil Harris' side, in what was Cardiff's first win against the Owls since 2014.

It was also their first win in five, a sequence stretching back to December 7th. The result for the Bluebirds moves them into the top ten, just two points off the play-offs.

Bamba has only featured briefly this season once before, coming on for a five minute cameo against Birmingham City in November.

It was the first forty-five minutes of football that the 34-year-old has played since March, after being sidelined for over eight months with a torn ACL.
