Preston North End have announced that Declan Rudd has signed a new deal with the club to extend his stay at Deepdale until the summer of 2023.

Rudd has been impressive this season for North End, and has made 37 appearances in total for the Lilywhites as they mount their challenge for a top-six finish in the Championship.

The 29-year-old has kept seven clean sheets in all competitions this season, and will be hoping he can play his part in their push for promotion into the Premier League.

Alex Neill's side are currently sat sixth in the second tier standings with nine games remaining this term, but they'll be looking over their shoulders nervously, with a number of sides still in contention to challenge them for a spot in the play-offs.

Plenty of Preston North End fans took to social media to express their delight on this latest update on Rudd's future at the club.
