Charlton Athletic confirmed prior to last night’s draw with Fulham that manager Lee Bowyer has signed a three-year deal to remain at the club.

The former player has transformed the club since taking over on a caretaker basis and led the Addicks to promotion against all odds in the previous campaign in what was his first full year in charge.
Therefore, the aim this season is survival and the point last night has moved Charlton six clear of the bottom three.
With a takeover completed at the start of the month as well, there is real optimism around the club that they can kick on in the years to come and progress under Bowyer, whilst he will be desperate to strengthen his group before the deadline this month.
So, it was no surprise to see all of the reaction to news of his extended contract was positive.
